Rondje Beemster, Schermer, Schiphol

Hoi allemaal......
na drie maanden in de sneeuw en in de kou heb ik eindelijk de RT weer gestart. Nog nooit zo lang naar het ding zitten KIJKEN!
Heb vorige week diverse trip(jes) gemaakt, waarvan eentje hier gedocumenteerd (kopietje van mijn eigen forum). Als je Engels kunt, leuk, anders zijn de plaatjes hoop ik de moeite waard... vooral die ene waar mijn moteur op staat :lol:

After this long harsh winter, the coldest one in more than 30 years, we finally had three days without freezing temperatures and without moisture..... in whatever form..... so I have been on the 'bike' for three days. And have muscles aching in several places to prove it !
There's not much riding for the heck of it to do around here, so I need a 'goal'. My goal for this day was to visit one of my favorite 'shops'. The Luchtvaart Hobbyshop. There they sell just about any imaginable and unimaginable aircraft kit model, any aviation book, flightsim software and hardware and have all the magazines.
It is also conveniently located near Amsterdam Airport where I can do some 'plane spotting' if need be!
So I started the bike - amazingly ran on second try after three months out in the snow !!!
I decided to take the 'long way round' to Amsterdam, meaning country roads through our polders.
And take some pictures. Hope you enjoy them...... here goes:
First to check the air in the tires. Only a little bit needed.....
Next we head out into beautiful Westfriesland.... here at Avenhorn
Then onto Ursem:
... and into the Schermer polder......

And a fourth one nearby
Then I rode on to the old town of Alkmaar. There's a mill near the city center there, a grain mill I think. It is built on what used to be the defense wall around the town.
Part of the remaining 'mout' around the town.

I then proceeded south, but made a detour to Akersloot to munch my sandwiches near the ferry...
This mill is in Akersloot
and so is this café (but only just). There are many of such little café's al over the countryside and they are always located near a ferry, a bridge, an intersection.... this looks a bit messy here.....
and here comes the ferryman!
Alright, I hit the 'slab' and made my way towards the airport.
While Schiphol Airport always was one of the friendliest in the world regarding 'spotters', that now has been thoroughly reversed. It is spotter UNfriendly if you ask me.
I couldn't park the bike on my favorite places (police was patrolling), the big spotter parking at Runway 24-06 has been removed, there are parking and stopping restrictions just about anywhere else, and I didn't feel like going to the McDonalds parking along the runway that wasn't in use.
So I continued to my shop
It started in this old mill, long before it grew into one of the largest of its kind in Europe !
I spotted the odd multi-million dollar yacht on my way back....
Alright, if you have nothing with planes, you may skip the rest....
I like the 'typical Dutch approach', over the polder landscape.....
... and caught the odd scooter in my lenses....
and a Fokker 100 from the Cityhopper (sub)company of KLM of Air France..... (still annoyed by that take-over)....

Now, this picture could get me in trouble with BMW again.... apparently I am not allowed to SELL pictures of my own bike anymore.. well, feast your eyes on this FREE pictures then..... *grin*
Boeing (a little 737 here) is just as anal about their 'copyrights'... so more free photos..... oh, and yes, I put some copyright on MINE too!! Heheh! So there!
Ah, oh, yes... and the odd Ferrari.....
The hazy sun glistening off the landing aircraft was nice, but hard to catch in photos....
This one looked slightly odd from afar......
Ah yes.... hadn't seen them before (I don't do a lot of spotting anymore these days)... it is a Brazilian Embrear jet
Okido, peeps, that's it. Didn't make photos on my way home, being too much occupied with lane-splitting many many miles home over our congested Amsterdam highways.....
